Julia Ericsson has over 20 years of experience as a representative in disputes concerning intellectual property law, marketing law and trade secrets. Julia represents clients in Swedish courts and at the Unified Patent Court (UPC).
Julia regularly represents Swedish and international clients in disputes concerning infringement and validity of intellectual property rights at the Patent and Market Court. Julia is a registered representative at the UPC and regularly represents clients there. She has particular experience of disputes at the Nordic-Baltic Regional Division in Stockholm.
In addition to litigation, Julia also provides general strategic advice in the field of intellectual property and market law. Julia is engaged by companies in many different technology areas (e.g. pharmaceuticals, biotechnology, medical technology, mechanics, electronics and telecoms/software industry (SEP)).
Julia is Vice-Chair of EPLAW (European Patent Lawyers Association). EPLAW is a non-profit association of experienced patent lawyers in the EU whose purpose is to promote the fair and efficient handling of patent disputes in Europe. Julia is also the author of several publications in the field of patent law.
Julia is ranked as one of the ‘Top 250 Women in IP’ (2025) and ‘Patent Star’ (2025) by Managing IP, ‘Leading patent professional’ (silver) by IAM Patent 1000 (2024), and ‘Leading individual’ in intellectual property and media by Legal 500 (2025). She is also ranked in Chambers & Partners (2025) and ranked as a ‘thought leader’ in IP patents (2025) by Lexology. Julia also won the international Client Choice Award in the Intellectual Property – Patents category for Sweden in 2020 (the award is presented by ILO and Lexology).
