Karin Westerberg has extensive experience from litigations regarding patents, copyright, trademarks, market law and trade secrets. Karin represents clients at the Swedish Patent and Market Courts and the Unified Patent Court (UPC). Karin has experience acting as a representative at the Nordic-Baltic division in Stockholm and to work in cross border litigations/teams. Karin represents clients in many different industries (e.g. pharma, medtech, mechanics, telecom) and has experience in disputes regarding standard essential patents (SEPs). Karin also provides strategic advice within her areas of expertise. Karin is the chairman of the Svensk Form (the Swedish Society of Crafts and Design) Copyright Panel.
Karin has served as a law clerk at the Stockholm District Court and as a reporting clerk at the Svea Court of Appeal, i.a. at the department handling IP related cases. Karin holds a Swedish LL.M. from Gothenburg University and has also studied at the Bond University in Australia.
Karin is ranked by Managing Intellectual Property as Patent Star and she was named a “Top Women in IP” (2020-2023) by the same ranking institute. Karin is also ranked in Chambers (Europe and Global), Legal 500, IAM Patent 1000 and Who is Who (Sweden and Global).
