
Karin Cederlund specializes in intellectual property law and marketing law. She represents clients in disputes relating to, e.g., copyright, trademark law, domain names, advertisement law, license agreements, consumer law, regulatory issues, and e-commerce. Karin also assists clients in contract negotiations and general advice in these areas. She represents clients in disputes before the Patent and Market Courts and the Administrative Courts, in relation to authorities (such as the Swedish Consumer Agency and the Public Health Agency) and self-regulatory bodies such as the Advertising Ombudsman. Karin is engaged by clients in various industries, e.g. media and entertainment, information, life science, retail, design, fashion, e-commerce and highly regulated industries (e.g. food and alcoholic beverages).
Karin has been a member of the board of the Swedish Association for Intellectual Property (SFIR) for several years. She is also a board member of the Institute for Intellectual Property and Marketing Law (IFIM) at Stockholm University. Karin has served as an expert in several legislative matters such as the Copyright Inquiry, the Inquiry on Droit de Suite and the Reference Group for the Implementation of the Directive on Copyright and Related Rights in the Digital Single Market (the DSM Directive).
In addition to having a Master of Laws, Karin holds a Master of Science in Economics and Business Administration from the Stockholm School of Economics. She is a frequent lecturer at universities and colleges and has also written many articles.
Karin is ranked in Band 1 in Chambers, leading individual in Legal 500 and in World Trademark Review (WTR). She is also ranked as a Trade mark star by IP Star/Managing IP and has in several years been on their list of “Top 250 Women in IP”.
